There are three spacious two-bedroom, two-bath apartments on the second floor that also have been completely renovated with upscale kitchens, baths, and high-quality appliances & furnishings. The sale comes complete with a well-designed commercial kitchen and many extras. The centrally-located Chatterbox Restaurant spans over 4,000 square feet with 110 indoor dining room seats and an additional 70 seats of outdoor dining in the summer season. Smith also designed other Ocean City landmarks, including City Hall, the Music Pier on the Boardwalk and the historic Flanders Hotel. Renowned architect Vivian Smith, an Ocean City native, designed the Chatterbox, according to the restaurant website. It is probably no more accurate than their grammar and capitalization. The Chatterbox Restaurant has been a fixture on 9th Street in Ocean City since 1937. Reading a critical review a few before this one, the first thought that came to mind was that it was written be a competitor. While I've only had breakfast at Chatterbox, I'm sure the same attention to detail is applied to lunch and dinner. I read somewhere that character is what you do when no one is watching. John immediately threw it into the trash. I would bet many cooks would have put it back on the plate and served it to an unsuspecting customer. While getting ingredients out of the refrigerator, John inadvertently knocked a chocolate covered strawberry off a plate onto the floor. After filling the glass for the customer, there was still more left in the blender which he also delivered to the customer instead of discarding it down the drain as is usually done. This was more yogurt than you usually get when you order a cone that costs more than this smoothey. A large scoop of what I assume was frozen yogurt was then added along with the other ingredients. Before starting preparation he washed his hands thoroughly, (maybe better than my dentist.) He never touched the bananas he used, slicing the skin lengthwise and then cutting the fruit in the skin before dumping it into the blender. he did make ancillary orders such as smoothies for another table. John, our server, had a great sense of humor and made us feel very welcome. I enjoy being seated where I can see how food is prepared. However, what I was most impressed by was what I saw while waiting for our order to arrive. The potatoes were well prepared, flavorful and a good sized portion. I had an omelette that was very well done with onions and peppers on both the inside and on top. Usually the only substitute is the standard flavorless tomatoes. Wife avoids carbs and asked if there was a substitute for potatoes on her egg dish. Had breakfast there this morning and it was great. Unfortunately, I wlll not be returning to my favorite breakfast place in Ocean City, NJ. If you are going to put mac & cheese on a kid's menu, maybe you should just stick to Kraft. I think they tried to make their own recipe, but it was really bland. The cheeseburger I had was ok, not bad, just not anything to get excited about. Lunch was a little better, but not much more. If you can't do fried eggs then you should close your doors. The second pair came out and were slightly less hard boiled than the 1st, but still not over easy. He returned the first set because they were over hard and had no runny yolk at all. My husband ordered fried eggs, over easy. The chipped beef is no longer the same recipe and it was not good. They had the best chipped beef I have ever tasted. I have been eating at the Chatterbox since I was a teenager (I'm 43 now) and I have always loved this restaurant.
